DIVERSITY STATEMENT

WMS admits students of any race, color, disability or national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disability, sexual orientation, national and ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs.

In accordance with the requirements of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended, WMS will not discriminate against any individual on the basis of disability.  WMS will make reasonable modifications in policies, practices, or procedures when such modifications are necessary to afford its services and facilities to individuals with disabilities, unless implementing the modifications would fundamentally alter the nature of WMS’s services or program.

FINANCIAL AID

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FINANCIAL AID SCHOOL AND STUDENT SERVICE PORTAL FOR SUBMISSIONS OPENS IN NOVEMBER FOR THE 2017/18 SCHOOL YEAR.

The Washington Market School is a non-profit, non-sectarian Early Childhood Center. Our School actively raises funds every year for its Financial Aid Program. Tuition Assistance is awarded on the basis of financial need and funds availability.

To assist our Financial Aid Committee, The Washington Market School subscribes to the School and Student Services (SSS). The SSS is an independent organization that provides need-based analysis to help private schools determine the financial need of their applicants. Families wishing to be considered for financial aid must submit a Parent Financial Statement to SSS by January 30th of the same year you expect your child to start school.

The Washington Market School is also authorized to accept childcare assistance vouchers from the NYC Administration for Children’s Services/Agency for Child Development (ACS/ACD). Please call the ACS/ACD directly at 311 for information. A family or parent who qualifies for a voucher but is waitlisted must also submit a Parent Financial Aid Statement to the School and Student Services.

Questions regarding financial aid can be directed to Aida Torres-Schneider at Hudson Street (call 212-233-2176 or email AV.TSchneider@wms-nyc.org).
