Application Process

Submit an application for your child. In the application, you will rank your session preference for your child (morning, afternoon, or full-day). Please note that the vast majority of our new families who choose a half day session will join us for their first year in our afternoon session. For their second year, families who choose to enroll in a half day may select the morning or afternoon, or join us for a full day. You can learn more about our sessions on our Programs Page.

Please note: There is a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Age Requirements for 2024-25 School Year:

• AM, PM, & Full Day 2s: Your child must be 2 years old by September 9th, 2024.
• Full Day: Your child must be 3 years old by September 9th, 2024. All children with birthdays from 9/9/2021 - 6/1/2019 are eligible to apply to our Full Day program for the 2024-25 school year. 

After you submit an application, our admissions team will reach out to schedule your school visit. The school visit (for parents only) will last approximately one hour and consists of a site tour, a classroom observation, and a round table discussion with fellow applicant parents and members of The Washington Market School Enrollment and Leadership Teams.

We invite you to get to know us better. We host a number of expert speakers during the school year to help parents create more conscious, emotionally healthy, and justice-oriented cultures at school and home. Your attendance at any of these free events will undoubtedly bolster your understanding of who we are and what we stand for. All applicant families are invited to attend so as to gain a deeper understanding about The Washington Market School community.

In past years, we have hosted widely known parenting experts like Dr. Becky Kennedy, PhD and Raffi. We have also hosted speakers whose engaging sessions focused on:

• Raising Resilient and Emotionally Healthy Children
• "Is This Normal?" Understanding Perfectionism and Pressure in Parenting

Submit an application for your child. Sibling/Legacy Families are eligible for Early Notification.

Early Notification Application Deadline: December 8, 2024

Early Notification Date: January 30, 2024

Any Sibling/Legacy applications submitted after December 8 will be considered with our General Application pool.

If your family has not been enrolled at The Washington Market School for more than two years, we encourage you to visit us again; however, this visit is not a required component of your application.

We do our best to accommodate session requests, but due to the high demand for enrollment at The Washington Market School, we cannot guarantee that we can honor first-choice session preferences.
