After you submit an application, you will be able to access the online Admissions Calendar to schedule your school visit. The school visit (for parents only) will last approximately one hour and consists of a site tour, a classroom observation, and a round table discussion with fellow applicant parents and members of The Washington Market School Enrollment and Leadership Teams.
We invite you to get to know us better. We host a number of expert speakers during the school year to help parents in high-achieving school communities create more conscious, emotionally healthy, and justice-oriented cultures at school and home. Your attendance at any of these free events will undoubtedly bolster your understanding of who we are and what we stand for. All applicant families are invited to attend so as to gain a deeper understanding about The Washington Market School community. In past years, we have offered expert sessions on: - Raising Resilient Children - “Is This Normal?” Understanding Perfectionism and Pressure in Parenting - Raising Emotionally Healthy Children in High-Achieving Schools
We are here to answer your questions and provide you with additional information and guidance along the way. Please reach out to us at admissions@wms-nyc.org as needed.

If your family has not been enrolled at The Washington Market School for more than two years, we encourage you to visit us again; however, this visit is not a required component of your application.
We do our best to accommodate session requests, but due to the high demand for enrollment at The Washington Market School, we cannot guarantee that we can honor first-choice session preferences.
Your school visit will include a deep dive into our time-tested educational philosophy and programming at The Washington Market School. During your visit, you will see our beautiful campuses, spend time inside our thoughtfully curated classrooms, studio spaces, libraries and gyms and engage in meaningful conversation with fellow prospective parents and members of our knowledgeable team.
Following your tour and classroom observation, prospective parents will participate in a Round Table Discussion with two to three other families. This is an open conversation about your classroom observations and also an opportunity to ask in-depth questions about The Washington Market School. Attendance and participation in a Round Table Discussion following your tour is a required component of our application process.
To assist our Financial Aid Committee, The Washington Market School subscribes to the TADS financial application system. TADS is an independent organization that provides need-based analysis to help private schools determine the financial need of their applicants.
