Alumni Spotlight

Alumni Spotlight: Lauren Bridges

Meet Lauren: Duane 4 Teacher and WMS Alumna!

Lauren Bridges is not only a talented and joyful teacher at The Washington Market School, but she attended WMS, as a little girl, which left a lasting impact on her life. Lauren’s earliest memory as a child is walking to The Washington Market School with her mom and lunch box in hand!

Growing up in New York City,  the world is vast and filled with opportunities for a child, much like the environment that The Washington Market School provides for its children. Our school  is a place full of wonder, excitement and growth, and it influenced a lifelong career for Lauren. Her experiences at WMS as a child cultivated a love of early childhood education and led her to work as a teacher – this being Lauren’s tenth year working with children.

Oftentimes, we disregard our earliest moments as just memories and photos to look back on, but speaking with Lauren reminds us that our experiences as children shape us into the adults we become. The Washington Market School believes deeply in creating a sense of autonomy and confidence in each child, and hopes that their experiences at our school will have a lasting impact, as it has for Lauren.
