Dear WMS Community,
Near and far, The Washington Market School brings a smile of deep respect and admiration at just the mention of its name. Words cannot adequately convey how extraordinary it is for me, so new to the community, to experience just how deeply people love this school. No matter where in the city (and often in other cities!) I travel, alumni and prior parents proudly share their connection with WMS.
As I begin my tenure as Head of School, I do so with such admiration for all that brought our school to this moment in time. It is clear that The Washington Market School, and all that it represents, is synonymous with Ronnie Moskowitz; for nearly five decades, Ronnie cultivated a community that honors and celebrates childhood. In doing so, a joyful culture of ongoing learning and growth for children and adults alike has become the core of our school’s ethos. Here, teachers are encouraged and supported in their pursuit of advanced degrees and related training, enabling them to provide a learning environment, year after year, that allows every child to thrive.
As the air grows crisper and we step into this magical season, I invite you to be part of the important work taking place at The Washington Market School by making a calendar-year-end gift. I am excited to be making a personal gift to our school because I see the inspiring work going on around me and I want to celebrate it in every possible way. Your generous gift will be used to support our exceptional program in thoughtful, mission-focused ways. Leading our school into this next part of its journey is a true privilege and joy for me, and I look forward to your partnership along the way.
You have my warmth and gratitude for all that you do that contributes to making The Washington Market School a beacon for early childhood education in New York City.
